Cakes Changed Everything!

 A few years back my niece asked me to make her a wedding cake! Although I had been decorating cakes for years as a hobby for my children. The thought of actually decorating a cake for a reception was not only, "scary", but daunting! The truth was I had a terrible past experience with my very first customer, that after wards I decided I would never sell a cake again!!! It left such a deep wound I never wanted anyone to criticize me nor my cakes! It was just easier to to decorate for FUN!! My challenge was to stack cakes and create a design I had never done before. Maybe easy for some, but not me. I was up early that morning perfecting my squiggly lines for the one hundredth time wiping them off and starting again! Once I delivered my cake I sat at a table close to by, so I could hear the comments. I was sure I would hear horrible shrieks of what a terrible job I had done. My daughters sat next to me and were excited to hear what everyone had to say. Yes, they thought their mom was a super hero. Little did they know I was sinking lower down into my seat as I watched people walk by and glare at it! To my astonishment I received compliments! I thought to myself, "what", my cake"? What was a wound I carried for years started to heal that day. It crossed my mind right then. I wonder what I could really do and how far I could go with it? It being decorating cakes! I decided to start a blog, because I know there are others out there just like me! So here I am! I hope your inspired to do "Something"! Anything that burns in your heart! That desire to create and show the world. Just start! You will not be sorry!!! Until next time!

Yes, It took Me a Long Time To Decorate!
